HIKING TRAILS

Popular with locals and open year-round, the trails of Earl Hill Conservation Park cater to a range of fitness levels and hiking styles.  Whether you’re chasing a sunrise summit or taking a gentle stroll through shaded bushland, both woodland and beachfront trailheads are easily accessible from the Lodge.

 

Lace up and explore at your own pace  nature is calling, just around the corner.

TRINITY BEACH LOOKOUT

- via Cycad Palm Track

Starting from the eastern trailhead accessed via Half Moon Bay Beach and a steep set of stairs, this 1.4km return track takes you through cycad groves and past beautiful Coral Sea views up to the Trinity Beach lookout.

Allow 50 minutes return to trailhead.

​

Council bathroom facilities located at Half Moon Bay Beach carpark.

EARL HILL SUMMIT

- via Woodland Track

A steep 3.6km (218m elevation) return track providing stunning views over Double Island and Buchan Point to the north and Yarrabah Range to the south.  Accessed from the woodland trailhead at the corner of Roberts Drive and Flagship Drive.

Allow 2 hour return to trailhead.

WOODLAND TO BEACH

- via Woodland, Rainforest & Cycad Palm Tracks

An end-toend 1.6km route branching off the Woodland Track (at 1.1km signed junction), turning right onto the Rainforest Track which connects to the Cycad Palm Track to finish at Half Moon Bay Beach.

Allow 2 hours trailhead to trailhead.

EARL HILL SUMMIT

- via Lizard Track

Only suitable for very experienced and fit walkers, the Lizard track provides a more difficult alternative to the Woodland track to the Earl Hill summit.  Accessed from the Woodland trailhead at the corner of Roberts Drive and Flagship Drive.
